My PWA Essay

Hello my name is Yoana Rodriguez. Today I'm going to write about the novel Kindred by Octavia Butler. What the novel Kindred showed how slavery resisted and how it's affecting us. "Slavery countinues in our society and in order to stop it, we need to have our own rights."

In my opinion I think slavery still keeps on going in our society. For example of this is that in Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua Mexico is an example of Economic Explotation, women are slaves because they don't get payed as good as they need to get payed, to include that sometimes they work for free.

Kevin and Dana  resisted slavery by helping the black people that were free and they will give them shelter, food etc.
 One connection that I have with this is when my uncles or anyone in my family had come from Mexico, what my parents do is that they helped them with food, clothes and help them in what my parents can, and while they have a job they can served their needs.

Now you understand that my theisis was correct "slavery continues in society & in order to stop it, we need to resist by speaking up for ourselves and we need to have our own rights."
What I think about this is that now what should happened now is that people would look for a full time job and/or move to another state or country and tell them you are a refugee and that you been abuse by your manager or any kind of person. they also can protest for females rights for women that work in "maquiladoras." my advice is to go to women's to have their right and to be respected as human beings as we are.

COLLEGE 4 ALL TRIP REFLECTION:)

My college experience was great because I loved all the colleges but my main one was UCSC (University California Santa Cruz) I like that school because it's far but not that far away from home and it's big and it has different types of programs and I really liked the college because it's on the forest and full pf nature I say that because I saw Bamby(a random deer). Like I said before I like UCSC and I would apply for Santa Cruz and what I would want to have is the college next to the Boardwalk so I would want to go and play in my free days and not study. I would also wanted next to Oakland so I can go visit my family too, but it can I would rather it like that to so I can go away from my annoying brother ans sisters. I can also get away from my parents and meet new friends.

Allow me to intoduce my self my name is Yoana Rodriguez i am a native american of the red jackets. let me tell you some struggles that I have are that the white people are always are taking our land and they make wars so they can all kill us and take all of our things. my constributing to the founding of this country include help white colonist live in this land and that they need because my contibutions to the founding of this country include  that we need to help people and that if people help us we need to help them back and that the white colonist are not going to take all of our land and they are not going to take whatever they want just because they want to and at anytime they feel like it.


In my opinion slavery shouldn’t had never excisted because we are all humans and we all diserve to be free. I disagree with ⅗ of a person because we are all the same and we are not any animals or any kind of toy to be counted as ⅗ of a person

I think everyone should be allowed to vote.  Even teenagers should be allowed to vote because they have a lot to say and they are the future of the country.  Women should be allowed to vote, because if men can do it, women can too.  In my tribes, the women take care of all of our government and are our judges.  They should also give the Native Americans their own space and should let them learn about their own race and their own languages to go to their ancestors.
                              I would also like to add that I think the Constitution should deal with my right to land fairly by giving us half and keeping other half. When i say fairly I mean in a way that everyone is happy. Im upset because the  white men are taking our land. I also think that the white men should not be able to take back the land they give us.



In conclusion, freeedom means equal treatment and also have are land. To be free from every thing

   Our communitty would be really a safe city and a happy one without this type of harms because we are not going to have this type of violence no more and that people will be able to walk in the strrets  with out any body with them. Our comcomunitty would feel like everybody come and paint all the tagging and Oakland and any other city would be looking veruy cool and a happy comunitty. Fruitvale would be much better and feel better with no violence and that is what causes Oakland residents to smoke and drink. Fruitvale residentys wuld believe that Okland can be a good place to live and that if you xchange it we will be happy,  non dangerousand safe. Fruitvale/ Oakland would have more residents. Our comunitty would experience what happy is and Oaklan California wouldn't be the 4th city most dangerous in the world.

       My group is studying about alcohol and drugs what we are studying is how the alcohol and the drug affect you and your health.

The oppressor is the alcohol and the drugs harmful because it hurts your lungs and your liver than it causes death. A prescription they say is to " drink alcohol and would make you look cool and popular". It restrict peoples life by killing them and hurting their liver, lungs and heart.

People are also involve in parties, houses, parks and other event where they are having fun & they don't take responsabilities that they have to take, It hurt people because you can cause violence such as accidents and many other things that you can regret later on in you life. It internalize you when you're addicted it to it & tells you to keep drinking and don't stop. A barrier of it is to go to a rehab center and get help and i t had to be fast.

I think the type of oppression that feel like to the other people who are oppressed by it is the dug and the alcohol and not to stop drinking/smoking. The people say "ohh is my money I work I can spend it in whatever I want" the alcohol and the drug say "come on drink, or smoke me and you are going cool and popular.

You can protect themselves by going to rehab centers for a good time until you are not going to drink even a spit. They can't get out of drugs and alcohol.

I wear my mask when I behave bad an example when my parents are mad at me and I don't want people to see me, I wear my mask when I respond back to my mom she also says ''watch with your dad when he gets home" my parents get embarrassed because they always trying to do the best  for me but I always ruen everything I do and they get even more embarrassed when they get me in trouble and people are there with us. I take off my mask when I do good stuff such as helping my mom with the house and helping the most annoying thing to do help and play with my brothers whatever they want to play. I also take off my mask when I go to parties, parks, and any kind of specialo event I take y mask off because I want people to know how I am and alwasy gouing to be like in parties I hang out withmy cousins and dance if there is a DJ, when I am in the park everything seems very diffrent because I am in nature and can relax I relax because I am laying on the grass and looking at the trees and at the sky I also be mitigate by hearing music and day dream when I am bord  sometimes I day dream about me as a nurse or sometimes a doctor and have my own family I want my family too look like a really caring family like everyone is being respectful and reliable to each other and everyone is going to go to college like everyone in my family is going to have a good job andnot be in the streets and dropping out of school and also be in drugs and have a good future and help others in need.
